Scrapbooking as much as possible, but sometimes getting distracted by birthdays and life!

More 1st grade cuteness!

I know you can’t get enough of 1st grade cuteness, so I’m here with another layout from when my daughter was in first grade!

I adore this sketch from Artful Delight blog:

ADJan Layout

and my daughter had this adorable drawing from 1st grade so I put the two together and got:

I love her artwork and am so glad I got to celebrate it with my scrapbook page! I’m entering this layout in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge “A is for…” (artwork in this case, or maybe adorable or Artful Delight!)

I framed the photo with a frame from the Silhouette store (3 doodle borders by Rivka Wilkins) and used my white Sakura Gelly Roll pen, Silhouette pen holder and wrote on the chalkboard print paper from Simple Stories I Heart Summer collection. I used the font JLR Pawtry Hearty for those cute pawprint heart cuts. They are traced with white gel pen and either cut out of the Crate Paper Fourteen collection papers or backed by it (some pawprints are cut out of the background paper.) I spritzed a little Cranberry Smooch Spritz in a couple of spots and used some buttons from Fancy Pants threaded with Twinery Twine. The title is done with alphas from Target (dollar section – wahoo!) and Close to My Heart Lots of Dots colored with Bic Mark-It marker. Journaling was done with the Sakure white Gelly Roll pen and I used adhesive from Beacon, Scotch, Xyron and Zig. The background paper is Bazzill (love their kraft!)

I hope you’re glad you stopped by today – I’m sure glad you did!

Have a fabulous day and I hope you have some time to get creative today!

  1. Love this…totally the way you did those paw prints!

  2. OMG Ruth if this isn’t the cutest page I have seen in awhile, then I don’t know what is!! Love that doodled border and your daughter’s drawing is precious. Great take on the sketch….thank you for joining us at Artful Delight this month.

  3. Sweet layout! Beautiful colors! Thanks for playing along with us at Artful Delight!

  4. I absolutely love what you’ve done with this page! The vibrant background you created is perfect for your daughter’s artwork and I thought the cat paws you made were brilliant! What a treasure to have this drawing from your daughter. You’ve framed it so well and I think we don’t highlight our own (or our family members’) artwork nearly often enough. Kudos to you for making this page meaningful as well as beautiful. I’m so glad you shared it with us for this week’s Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!

  5. Now how sweet is this? Love that you scrapped your daughter’s sweet artwork!
Thanks for joining us at Artful Delight!

  6. That cat is the best! Love that there’s a bird perched on top of its head!!!! 🙂
