Scrapbooking as much as possible, but sometimes getting distracted by birthdays and life!

Falling into a pattern

Yep, I’m finding that once I get started with these print and cut projects I have a hard time stopping! The story behind this one is I was originally trying to use my stash (good girl, right?) as well as using cutting files from the Pretty Papers, Pretty Ribbons store (very good girl, especially since this was a design team project, LOL!;-) Unfortunately, the files and papers didn’t play well together for the really small elements and I had to scrap the project until I figured something else out, or my allowance came! (I get a monthly allowance from Lisa to shop in the Pretty Papers, Pretty Ribbons store [awesome, right?] and while I was purchasing the files for yesterday’s project I realized the answer to my problem was to use the patterns and do print and cut for this one. Perfection!) I love the results and hope you (and my hubby) do, too! Oh, yeah, this was an anniversary card from punny me to my very good-natured hubby (pun not intended – natured…!)

Super cute, right? I just loved this squirrel! You can find him in the Nuts About You Cutting Files. Yep, and this is perfect for me because I am nuts..about my hubby and puns and fall and our anniversary is in fall. Crazy perfect, right?

I also used the Tri-Fold Shutter Card Cutting Files because I love interactive cards and I have to apologize for all the photos, but I just love all the different little nooks and crannies to play with on this one! Oh, and I used the Pumpkin Spice Pattern Pack 2 and Pumpkin Spice Falling Leaves for the patterned papers and to pull some of the colors for the leaves on the oak branches.

More crazy, fun pictures:

Aren’t all the layers and ins and outs so much fun! These cards have a lot of Wow potential and really make you look like you’ve got mad crafting skills! Gotta love that! I used the Silhouette Printable Cotton Canvas for a lot of the cuts for the wonderful texture it adds.

The perfect sentiment!! <3!!!

And here’s how it looks when it’s flattened out-ish.

Of course, there’s a little bit of room for me to thank my hubby for putting up with my puns all the time. You wouldn’t believe how many fall puns I have come up with over the years…

Some business, I’ve also posted over at the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons blog today (a lot more short and sweet there!) There was a blog hop yesterday with a freebie and possible blog candy, so be sure to see the post on that blog from yesterday, too. And that hop was the start of the Fall Challenge. You’ll find all the details over at the monthly challenge post. I sure hope you’ll play along! There are so many possibilities with this!

So, a big thank you to Lisa for saving my marriage (or at least feeding my need for nutty sentiments for anniversary cards!;-)

I hope you are having a great day! Thanks so much for stopping by! I always love to hear your thought about my project (as long as it’s nice) so please leave a comment below to make me smile!

Happy crafting!

Ruth

P.S. These cut files are available in the Silhouette online store (squirrel #68605, oak branch #68604, nuts about you sentiment #68603). Sadly, Silhouette didn’t include the squirrel in the fall themed sale (huh? sometimes I wonder), but some of Lisa’s other designs are included if you want to stock up for 25% off!

Happy Anniversary !!!!! I just love this card. I have so been wanting to make a couple of these type of cards, but since I gave up on my cameo and sold it. When I do try these they will be cut by hand. Had no idea I could have had a svg file for the card base.

Your card is fantastic, I like everything about it. I’m sure you hubby loved it too.

  2. That’s the cutest squirrel ever! And I LOVE the gate fold! Happy fall!

  3. Love your card! I have pinned this and have been a follower for a while now. Love the inspiration!
