Scrapbooking as much as possible, but sometimes getting distracted by birthdays and life!

OK, so maybe I had a little bit of fun with the title for this post – I hope it made you smile! I certainly had fun creating this Mother’s Day card for my mom.

I used this sketch from My Favorite Things for inspiration:

Here’s my card:

I decided to create my own patterned paper with the floral images from the Mother’s Day Bouquet stamp set. I used copic markers and Spectrum Noir Triblend markers to color the flowers, leaves, and berries. The strips and sentiment circle were die cut using two of the dies from the Blueprints 24 Die-Namics.

The card base is Boysenberry – my mom loves purple and was thrilled to see that I got the colors right for her Mother’s Day card (we won’t talk about how jealous my sister was of my coloring – let’s just say I am definitely Mom’s favorite;-)

I added a sprinkling of iridescent pink sequins and a dot of Tonic CLOUD 9 Nuvo Dream Drops to the centers of the purple flowers.

I’m entering this card into the My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge as well as the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge – to create a feminine project.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have time to create something beautiful this week!
