Hi! I’m so excited! My hubby and I are both allergic to cats (and I am allergic to all furry and feathered friends) so we’ve never had anything that is sweet to cuddle in our home other than stuffed animals. My daughter has been living in another state while she finishes up her Senior year of her undergrad degree remotely and works for the company she had an internship with over the summer. Her plan is to take a gap year, keep working, and hopefully get into the PhD program of her dreams. It’s been a tough year in so many ways and the isolation of COVID life definitely has been hard on her as a college student, so she’s finally taken the plunge and adopted a sweet, plump kitty.
What’s a card-making mom to do? Well, first of all she is delighted by all the fun kitty themed card-making supplies and she just learned some basic Copic coloring skills (thank you, Jenn Shurkus) so when My Favorite Things came out with their newest card kit she knew she had to have it! I mean, it is purrrfect!
As always, I appreciate any help with figuring out the design for a card so I thought the newest sketch from MFT would be perfect for my card!
Here’s what I did with it:
I love all the fabulous details in the stamps and dies that were part of the kit (as well as in the free gift with purchase.) I thought it’d be fun to use colors that were similar to the ones she has in her room as well as coloring the kitty the way her kitty looks! And this sentiment – it got me right where I live! I love a good pun and my daughter will know this is a card made by her mom!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Let me know in the comments if you have fun recreating your pets in different ways.
I will be entering the My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Simon Says: Anything Goes.
